I just dont know how to work them lol xD Whenever I drag the clipping mask layer down the little arrow to show it is clipping doesnt appear. I need clipping masks to get part of like a layer to appear in like a pen tool line.

this was confusing for me too. So i'll explain the way i do it :D

Say you wanna clip text.

Make your layer of text then hide it. (uncheck the eye in the layers palette)

Make a new layer and apply the image

recheck the eye to unhide the text layer

with the applied image layer on top of the text layer hit CTRL+g to make the clipping mask.

Then just move the top layer around to see the clipped text through it.

(if you dont wanna do text then just make sure whatever brushed layer you use is below the applied image layer)

you do it that way?I do it differently =/
*Say you are clipping splatter brushes*
1-Make a new layer
2-brush with ur splatter brushes
3-make a new layer
4-Image>apply image
5-alt+ctrl+g at the same time
6-use move tool until you like

you need to use the actual move tool (v) to move the applied image on around the canvas?

yea all that i do is make a new layer draw or do watever i want to be clipped on that layer....then hide the eye on the layer i just drew everthing on......then make a new layer [IMAGE APPLY IMAGE] and right click set to clipping mask for the layer below i just drew on or watever........then unhide eye tool that i hid on the layer i drew on and go up to my clipping mask layer and use little arrow tool to move around the applyed image inside of the clipping mask. Then once i find a nice place for it i hit CTRL-e to merge both layers together.

Thats my first work tutorial lol hope it helped u mask just follow exactly as i said.

Lemme just shorten that, Original.

2 NEW LAYERS. BOTTOM LAYER = SPLATTER. HIDE THAT LAYER.

TOP LAYER = APPLY IMAGE. NOW UNHIDE THE SPLATTER LAYER.

HOLD ALT AND CLICK THE LITTLE LINE SEPARATING THE TWO LAYERS.

MOVE THE TOP LAYER AROUND TO GET A NICE EFFECT.

Voila... Sorry my text had to be so agressive-like.
