Illustrator

I am going to start to use illustrator for a class, any tips, comments, or tutorials that anyone has?

I want to get familiar with the program. Is it a lot like ps?

Its a lot less user friendly than PS IMO. But if you use the pen tool in there extensivly for a day, you will think Photoshop's pen tool is garbage.

You have to remember the boxes that would typically be foreground and background in PS are Stroke and fill in Illy.
Um Youtube tutorials are usually great to learn the basics from. Gradient meshes are your friends learn to use them for sure.

ermm Vectoring in Illy is really easy. I'm vectoring a lamborghini right now, You should try it once you get the basics down. it will make illy seem very comfortable.

Vectors in illi own, i started using it like 2 weeks ago and find it pretty easy to use now. So much quicker to edit colours etc than ps.

Yeah the class will be vector based art, so I really wanted to get to know the vector side of it.
