adobe announced it today! (or was it yesterday i dunno)
http://www.adobe.com/
not sure when it will come out tho (in october i think)
it was confirmed that we would be able to open many cs4 program in a single window.
(man i can't wait to use indesign or illustrator in photoshop)
for my own part i want it to have more 32bit function and an increased ram memory usage.
cs3 can only use up to 3.25 gigabytes :\ would be nice if it could use more since i actually have 6 gb.
what do you want to see in cs4? what are your expectations?

You tried the beta
Good job, therefore the full version of CS4 sucks.

Smoother panning and zooming and fluid canvas rotation, Adjustments panel, masks panel, and upgraded burn/dodge tools all are "annoying".
;X why do you have to make yourself look silly.
@fecalblow, photoshop not using more RAM isn't photoshop-side, it's kernel-side. Upgrade to 64bit.
Its retarded they bring out a new version so fast after CS3.. and tbh Ive seen the layout and imo I dont think its better then CS3.. Ill stick with Cs3 for a while.. :)

...not interested. I'm still happy with PS7, CS, CS2 and I have CS3, as a back up if I really really REALLY need it and right now, I don't need it. lols. Corel Painter X, and a few other programs like InDesign & Illustrator work as a support function set of programs when I'm using PS7 and CS. CS2 and CS3 are just there for "trophies"...
I'm saving my cash... not buying CS4... nor do I care of its consumer issuance to the public at large, ie. "consumer market". The damn program was both announced and the BETA is disappointing...and came out too fast. Also, I have plugin codes that make my "Middle East" CS operate like CS2 and CS3, so that I don't even have to install CS2 or 3. ;)
God I love my job!
PS: Also, who cares about a program that does most of the "EFFORT" for you. I do not want a machine to do nearly 99% of the work for me, in my Arts. Sh*t! F*ck that. CS3 is already nearly like that crap...

That's rediculous. How do they expect people to keep up with their updates if they release a new $500 package every month. Not a good decision on their part in my opinion. I am a CS2 user, and I tried CS3 a few weeks ago. There were some pretty cool features, but definitely not worth it.

Ah, I thought you said you wanted more 32-bit features, that's why. ;P

Hey, that's the good thing - they don't force you to upgrade. ;)
However, some of the features are handy - just wait for CS5 or even CS6 if you don't feel like getting it. No one forces you to get the latest. I like how they have "landmarks".

I'm not really interested. I have CS2 and CS3, but I use CS2 the most. I think it's ridiculous how fast they released CS4.
I haven't seen the layout or tried it or anything, but the advertising:

It's going to be brilliant? Oh well that settles it game over..
Seriously i almost barfed when i saw that, Adobe needs to fire whoever came up with that saying immediately.
I might give it a try but tbh I'm pretty content with cs2. If i was a pro or somethign then i'd for sure upgrade, but since i just use it for fun and occasional freelancing it's really not worth it for me to bother, unless i really fall in love with the trial, then i'll probably upgrade.

Yeah tbh my system can't really handle CS2 that well
CS3 would rape it

Yea im good wit CS2 and CS3. I ageree with link about maybe just waiting for like 5 or 6 or somethin.

The programs do not do the work for you, it simply makes it easier for you to complete the selected tasks. It would make sense, though, that you would not want efficiency in your work; totally logical.
[/sarcasm]
I wouldn't bother upgrading to CS4 for any of you, even CS is enough to accomplish whatever goals you want to reach. CS2 was my favorite, though.

I might stick with CS2. I've tried CS3 and I didn't notice much of a difference. I'll probably try CS4 but I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with what I have. No use switching if I don't like it.

at the moment I'm still using CS 2 and I think it works best for me since my comp is not a really good . I used to use CS 3 but sometime it's lag for me when I'm working on large art ( about 2000 pixel ++ ) , it really slow my comp down .and I dont think this Cs4 thing will be better for my comp . Overall I believe CS 4 is better but it'd take some time to figure out all of the new features .
