I'm not to sure if this is the right place to put this, sorry if it isn't, and if it isn't to much of a hassle, can it be moved :)..

When i turn on PS, its slow to load up everything(which doesnt bother me), but when i drag and drop an imagine, it takes a few seconds for it to load and basically freezes PS for the duration.. I know for a fact, that when i had CS3 last year, it didn't do this, is there anyway i can change it from loading slow or just get use to it?

---------------
Photoshop CS3
System Specs : Intel Core2 Cpu 6400 @ 2.13GHz

Your PC Specs are fine, that shouldn't be a problem, I guess it's a bug in PS, you might want to reinstall it =D

It could be 1 or more things.

#1: Your FONT folder count. If it is over 5000 Fonts, it will take a little bit to load Photoshop. I remember I had 45000 fonts and it took literally 10 minutes to load PS.

#2: Memory, but your memory cache from what you posted looks fine.

#3: Your Windows System could be corrupted, which means you should do some backups of all your Photoshop Presets, and important date to your external Hard drives, and reINSTALL Windows, and of course, reinstall Photoshop. I had the same problem such as you, and it was nothing dealing with overly large Font folders, memory, it was just a corrupted Windows system, and reinstalling it all solved that problem.

#4: Perhaps, also. Check your Photoshop Preferences and up the ante' to something around 45% of System Memory. SOmetimes that helps, but usually is not necessary, as of current my PC is using only 15% System Memory and my PS is running smoothingly after the Windows reinstall.

Hope this helps....

hmm, that reinstalling, might be the only way to fix it, looks like i might need to go around looking for my windows cd.

But i would like to see if theres anything else, cuz i dont really feel like reinstalling considering i have games and shit on here atm.. Thanks for the help and thanks for the shift Thrasher, sorry for the hassle :)

Thanks for the post though guys, i'll keep it in mind for when i get back into photoshop :)

^Get that ex.Harddrive man, to back up all your settings, games, and things. ;) Re-installing could be the only way, unless you reinstall Photoshop itself.
