well this is my life so ill post it here :D

well i will be going to high school next year as a freshman and i am going to be playing football. so this summer every monday-thursday in the morning from 8:30-10:00 am i have to go to school to... workout.

my first day was today and it was pretty tough. we did a bunch of squats and lunges and pull ups. and right when ur thys got really soar, they made us run... a lot. and so it was pretty tough and i gotta get up every morning on weekdays. and after i ran and we got to go home, i have to ride the city bus to there and back and i walked over to the bus stop and my legs were just on fire.

its a really good way to get us ready for high school sports and im getting a good workout from it. one thing that happened today, whe we were running the coach told u to focus on a single object, a focal point, ahead of u. and i thought of sig making and about depth, and about that single object being sharp and easy to see and everything else out of focus a little. and that made me think...

i think i did pretty good but im gonna be hella sore in the morning and especially this weekend. so yea... its a good thing to do but it does hurt. but i gotta get used to it.

I did football my Fresh. and Soph. years but did Cross Country Junior year while doing Track and Field throughout all of the years so far. (Senior now) Anyways with what you were saying, I think you made a good connection between sports and personal life.

When I played football we had a week called Doubles. 2, 3 hour practices with a 1 hour break inbetween. Do you have something like that at your school?

my legs r sore right now and it hurts to walk. cant wait for tomarrow

UPDATE:

wow today was tough. we started by doing a bunch of jogs and runs in the gym. lots and lots of them. then we did a bunch of bench presses and some other one i forgot what its called u hold the bar by ur thys then curl it up and hold it at ur chest. we did those for like an hour taking turns with 4 ppl in a group 8 reps each over and over. then at the end we did 20 pushups, 20 curl ups, 15 push ups then 20 curl ups in a row.

it started to rain when we were doing bench presses so we didnt go and run. so i had to go ride the bus home in the rain so i went over to sonic and bought some tacos :D so i had to come home soaked...

some football advice if ur playing defense go out and just hit the biggest kid on the team in every drill even if u get knocked down the coaches will recognize it trust me...if ur on offense like me = ) always want the ball even if u dont know the play always want it.... ive been starting wide reciever since my first year in JV so trust me i kno....and ur times suck ours are only 11am - 1pm might be diff b/c ur freshmeat oh i mean freshmen

EDIT: and in workouts when ur running breath in through ur nose and out through ur mouth...it doesnt feel good b/c its not natural but u regain air alot quicker

football sounds hard, but a good workout. Just wish my badminton coach at our school would actually train us we can be Division one champions again, but she's too lazy to get up in the mornings, so we're stuck at the bottom of division one.... T.T

wtf, football is the easiest sport in the world, besides foosball. and dude if your coach won't wake you up, wake your self up and practice. in any sport you gotta work to be better. you can't treat it like a light switch and turn it on then off, i'm sorry it doesn't work like dat. and im sorry if your the last place team of your division, but yea maybe that tells you somethin. idk.......

ya, but we need to the coach's expertise to help us train the right body parts. plus it's more motivation. I mean seriously if your coach doesn't even care, that's just dampen's the teams morale. plus we don't have many seniors, 9 out of the 12 varisty spots are filled with sophomores and 2 spots are filled with freshmen. that says something. :(

Football is crazy hard, you have to work your ass off every game/practice/etc. I would be playing football today but I fricked up one of my knees and can't physically keep up anymore :(

I agree, football is definitely hard. You have to work so hard to wear that all that amour and talking other people. putting enough wait and having enough muscle to knock people over. and all the time, you try not getting yourself seriously hurt.

Not to mention the pressure that people get when playing such an intense team sport.

Well, the equipment isn't that heavy, most people think it's very heavy, it's not. I was a running back 3 years ago and I didn't really push anyone down :P I more just bolted past them and if I had to jump over them :P

hahahaha yeah thats true, 100%. I played for 5 years, broke my arm and left twice :P Then some guy completly fucked up my knee and I haven't been able to do shit. Still suffer from the effects today. My knee will lock up if i'm bending down or something. On crutches for 2 years, just completly sucked. All that just from one innocent tackle.

what's ACL? and rehab sounds horrible. so do you do any sports now?

Darkmaster
06-23-2007, 04:43 PM
An ACL is your Anterior cruciate ligament. It is one of the four major ligaments of the knee. It connects from a posterio-lateral part of the femur to an anterio-medial part of the tibia. These attachments allow it to resist forces pushing the tibia forward relative to the femur. And no I don't do any sports now because I can't physically keep up and there's the risk of me tearing it again. And I'm not going through that surgery again :P

hynfaeries0
06-23-2007, 05:33 PM
sounds really bad. Will it ever repair fully? or will this injury be with you your entire life? :(

Darkmaster
06-23-2007, 05:41 PM
Doctors still arn't sure, I hope that it heals in the next 5 years but it's a hit and miss. If it doesn't well then I will probably be in a wheel chair by 60 :(

oh ok i feel you when you say any sport is about motivation cause it's totally true. and don't get mad about your team, because if the entire varsity team is young then you'll have more potential for the next few years.

and no just cause it's ur first year playin a sport doesn't mean you won't be good, it means you have more to learn, ok hoots!?

mw.Kris
06-24-2007, 09:50 AM
