In this thread please give the story behind you getting into the whole graphical tag making hobby.
It was a two or more years ago and I was apart of a wrestling forum and I noticed that some people were making things called signatures so I wanted to learn how to make them. Of course there idea of a great signature is not the same as graphical forums because people have different styles. I got a copy of Photoshop CS2 and went at it. Now it is the only thing I want to do anymore.
Well mine looks a bit like yours, I was on a gaming forum and saw people make beautifull signatures so i wanted to learn aswell. I readed craploads of tuts and became better and I really like doing it http://www.gfxjunk.com/board/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

for me the first like 6 months though was all without any type of tutorials. I just keep messing around in photoshop, then I found out that there were entire sites filled with nice tutorials that would advance my graphical skills.

well, it all started when I was a newbie webmaster, using paint was too hard so I got a copy of Ps and started learning by myself some stuff, a few days later I discovered that there are so called thing as "tutorials". http://www.gfxjunk.com/board/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif Then I've become a moderate rank, then I gave up with ps for about 3 months, after some time I came back then I made my rank intermediate and gave up with it again, now I'm here, back to gfx, I hope. http://www.gfxjunk.com/board/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

well i learned ps by accident, in my Business management class in 9th grade my teacher always gave us crap assignments so i would always go in the schools copy of photoshop 7.0, which is also the best version my school has http://www.gfxjunk.com/board/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif were poor. but i used that and by luck i just discovered filters and blending modes, then i got into graphics forums by searching google and it took off from there, now im just trying to catch up with everyone http://www.gfxjunk.com/board/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif but yea its been a good time.

While being a member of a Neopets group on MySpace last year someone made a quick ad post for 3vo so i went there originally for Neopets and discovered the sweet ass signatures everyone had. I requested one and got it but after a month or so and kept seeing them i wanted to try and make them. So i had a friend on MySpace and she sent me a copy of her Photoshop CS and then i just read tutorials.

I was in a 3d design class and we had a part of the course was a photoshop part. But then I was on several gaming forums and I saw people doing sigs and it really got me more interested. I took another semester of the class just so I could have class time playing with ps and I didnt have to wait till i got home, we really only ended up play video games all class. Wolfenstien: ET, PS2, random movies, Snes, Emulators. Best senior class ever.

i started with a drawing package on the spectrum zx, then later on i got an atari and my folks bought me a copy of degas elite, after that i did media studies at college and we had a copy of photoshop 6 which i spent every free minute on, then i got a pc at home and got photoshop 7, after that i went to uni, did my terms photoshop module in 3 hours and spent the rest of the term learning director 9 (flashes big brother), i dropped out of uni and bummed about for a coule of years, now i'm a web developer/graphic designer for a small design agency, i've probably done about 10 tutorials in my life, mostly self taught, but i still like the fact that i can learn something in photoshop everyday

Well, I made this site called:
Escape From Raccoon City
And I needed some art work done for it for a promotional.
Well my cousin, at his house, says 'Dont worry, I got ya'.
I was expectiong him to draw something and color it on paper, but it was all digital. It was a black and white render of Leon Kennedy on a black and white cloud background.
So I was like thats 1337!
And I asked what he used, and it went from there.
i was on forums, checking something for a game, then i saw these beastly graphics in their sigs and i asked what they did to make them, so they said photoshop and...the story goes on
like 90% of everybody got into it true games and forums XD atleast i think so :P[/b]
Actually combine the 2 and you have moi
its my gaming clan forum i noticed
the sig they wasnt that good so i never bothered requesting one.
I downloaded the 30 day trial of PSP that ran out then some1 recommended PS so i downloaded the 30 day trial of CS2.

hm.....mine all started with a game called SOCOM:Fire Team Bravo for psp, I was completely addicted. There was a site for clan wars, and on the forum they had a gfx team. It was very popular. I didn't even know what gfx meant at that time. I was looking through the forums and saw how awesome everyone sigs looked.
So, I aimed this one guy from the gfx team there, and he told me about it all and he sent me CS2 and Ive been working up from there and now I'm onto real gfxing :)

Like stuff other than just sigs. Sigs arent as much artistic in them. After making sigs i got into a real art aspect of my work.
