Yeah I am also looking for this too and some good default brushes to experiment with smudging too so i will lurk here for a bit =/

chalk is best. and use like 20-30 strength. and also i found a really good setting with a hard brush but i forgot.
ya i use a chalk brush with some scatter

there is other brushes that are usable cept the chalks :)

Mess around with the opacity, this is key because if it is too high, it drags the whole image too far.

Just take out different brushes (usually hard/soft/chalk brushes)
and change all the settings around and test them out.
Then use assorted brushed for extra texture and try out different strengths.[/b]

Personally i get custom brushes i download in packs, change the attributes of them and lower the opacity to about 60%. Don't use circular brushes, you get a better effect for say arrows ;)

I don't, smudging with circular brushes don't really give good effects imo.
Using different brushes like wireframe brushes and then smudging with them at a small size give you a cool effect ;)

Im not gonna take there smudge settings...
Im just expanding my knowledge and learning how to make my alrdy smudge art look better with filter usage and that. :thumbsup:

but u can use different brushes for different smudge styles.
