Anyways, I doubt you'll find any tutorials on this site :/ probably more likely to find them on GR or something.

i don't think you've got smuding tuts... but in each tut you will find some smudging... you just need it in everywork... sometimes you will use it many times, sometimes you will use it almost not... but you need to use it, so when you look tuts you will most of the time see how they have smudged...

I've got a tut too and i've smudged in it too... http://silver.reseller-pcbvwaterland.nl/ph...tutninjasig.gif (http://silver.reseller-pcbvwaterland.nl/photoshop/sig/tutninjasig.gif)
this is just one tut of me ;)

Thanks for the tut.

I was wondering about the smudging where you make those awesome cloud effects.
anyone know about those?

for cloads... there are some brushes who are cloads and i think you could make some cloads on another way too... Just take a round brush, than make soms shape's who look like a cloud en than erase some parts of the outline with a round soft brush... you could smudge it a bit too...

it's just trying untill you find it... you just need too use photoshop verry much and than just experimenting... that's the way to improve ;) (by tuts you can improve much too ;))

well yeh xD ill help xD... I dont know much but murch said the cloud effects kind of things in my holly sig. Basically all i did here was apply image, and then smudge with a 45/65 pixel default chalk brush in the flow of your sig. Once you have done this (only do little parts at a time, like a certain area of your tag), set the layer to lighten and decrease the opacity drastically, down to around 15% or 20% (opacity varies depending on the tag).

I may decide to make a smudging tut some time in the next few weeks. I cant guarantee on that though xD. I will tyr :). I have only used the smudging tool for a little while myselfxD

I use leaf brushes, splatter brushes, and vector brushes. I like splatter the most.

Play with the settings and if you want an extreme smudge, set the strength to 80+. If you want something more gentle, then 75 or under. To get textures out of your smudging, sharpen it, but not too much.

What not to do to make a good smudging signature is to only smudge a stock's focal or to smudge a render and leave it at that as the background, and possibly the tag. What to do is to find colors that contrast and match the colors of the stock, since I assume most'll be covering most space in the stock that's not covered by the focal, and smudge colors placed in good positions on different layers. Another thing not to do is to use complex brush tips; stick with simple ones. You can do anything with a hard round brush, basically; the rest're too obvious and don't make good smudge tags. Another good, solid brush is the chalk brush. Good for textures.

It's all composition, really.
