What do you use for gfx?

Do you all mostly use photoshop? If so, do you have to buy that? Or can you use the gimp (free), and is it as good as photoshop?

GFX with GIMP doesnt look very good imo.. :/

Anyways, I use GIMP mainly until recently when I started trying the 'free' version of CS2 since It's used in my school work.

@Vera - GIMP Tags can look cool. It's just the people using it that don't make them. PS is basically an advanced version of GIMP.

Photoshop really is the best thing for tags imo. I use photoshop cs2 personally, and I love it a lot.

Although I do use Apophysis and C4D from time to time if I can't find what I need in the various packs I have.

I am the kind of person who have used almost all programs, when I started out, I was using Paint Shop Pro 9 which I think was about 3 years ago, then bought my own copy of Paint Shop Pro 10 , I got sick of people criticizing PSP being lost to Photoshop, so then I bought my own CS copy, upgaded onto CS2 and then CS2 became broken and I couldnt find my CD anymore and so I had to use Corel Graphics Suite as that is what my brother uses because of school.... It was so hard to use Corel so I associated it with paint as it would not save web extensions, also, that meant lost of quality...And then, I recently bought CS3, which was nice and sleek, but when I reformated my PC, it got lost because the hard drive it was in was corrupted, i tried to reinstall it, but no luck :( Then finally , I went steady with CS (What I am Using Now)

GIMP is basically a watered down version of Photoshop, it is almost the same, but Photoshop is more famous and therefore has more resources, making GIMP, errr, lose...

Photoshop can be gotten at some sites, but ILLEGALLY , but there are a few trials out there, just make the best of the 30 days trial of photoshop, and youll be fine :)

I started on Microsoft Paint...Yeah lets all laugh. XD Then I went on Photoshop Elements 3.0..Then onto Photoshop CS2...Now onto Photoshop CS3.
